The Overview
Odyssey III was originally launched in 1967 by the finest Italian yard of superyachts at the time, Benetti. Since then, this vessel has had a colour life cruising the Mediterranean, with a brief stint in Falmouth to be returned to her former glory by the Pendennis shipyard in 2018, now in stunning condition, a real preservation project has created arguably one of the finest examples of the Italian shipyards classics. Consisting of four, very comfortably proportioned, guest cabins, as well as six crew, this vessel is all one could ever need.

The interiors on board this vessel are something of a masterpiece, like walking back in time, but with a modern edge thanks to the fine craftsmanship of the modern era. On entry into the salon, you are greeted by a warmth, that in the day feels pleasantly relaxing, yet in the evening makes for an atmosphere of true elegance. One cannot miss the wonderful writers table that welcomes them into the salon area, and as the eye moves forward, the warmth of the deep-cushioned sofa creates a comforting sample of the finest gentleman’s club ‘on sea’. Further forward, you will find a very spacious dining area, an area perfect for a game of cards or, if there weather isn’t so great outside, a very comfortable space to dine with friends and family - especially pleasant in the later months of summer in the evenings, an effortlessly elegant space. Moving on, you find a very well kitted out raised bridge, a quintessential design feature of the Benetti’s of this era, through the rigorous renovations at Pendennis, this motor yacht benefitted from fully upgraded navigation equipment, making for not only a yacht that is stunning in style but also technological advancements. Downstairs, you will find four guest cabins, the master suite sits directly below the wheelhouse, and spans the entire width of the vessel, creating a vast space that is not only fitted and furnished in the most wonderful timeless fashion but also of modern-day proportions with all the latest technology, this cabin also benefits from a vast ensuite, including his and hers vanity units. Further below, and heading towards the stern, you will find the three remaining guest cabins, two very well proportioned twin cabins sit on either side of the hallway, meanwhile the VIP guest cabin sits the stern, and again, spans the entire width of the vessel, a wonderfully proportioned room that follows the classic style that flows through the yacht. All guest cabins benefit from private ensuites, and each cabin features its own intricate details that bring the character of the yacht to life.

The exterior spaces on board this vessel follow in the footsteps of the classical design that created the legendary parties depicted in the likes of Slim Aarons’ photography. To the stern of the yacht, a wonderful round table sits, perfect for breakfasts at anchor, or dinner in port - this space creates a wonderfully engaging area to mix with friends and family. Upstairs, you find an incredibly diverse area, a vast teak laid space creates the ultimate area to soak up the Mediterranean sun, to the stern, you will find a vast sun-pad, perfect for a relaxed game of back-gammon, whilst shaded from the sun, or an afternoon nap. Further forward you will find a selection of perfectly positioned deck chairs, all serviced keenly by the staff from the bar and BBQ area, that sits to the rear of the pilot-house. The bow onboard is mainly utilised as a tender storage area, but should you wish to feel the wind through your hair, it creates a wonderful atmosphere whilst cruising along. For boarding of the yacht, a touch of modernity meets the classic lines of this yacht in the way of a port side passerelle and drop-down deck - this creates a traditional, yet easy, access point to the water or the shore.
Odyssey III is a true master-piece, a museum of the golden era of yachting, brought to you by the Italians but enhanced by the British. There really is nothing quite like this motor yacht in the Balearics, where she is based, and a true sense of the good times is felt every time you step aboard.
