 The Overview

Vespucci is an elegant displacement gentleman's yacht built in steel and aluminium by CRN Ancona for the legendary Mr Carlo Riva, to his own design, and delivered in 1978. Particular attention was given to this vessel by the CRN shipyard and Carlo Riva, one of the yachting industry’s most renowned figures. Mr Riva was very involved in the realisation of what he considered one of his best yachts. Vespucci completed a 2-year extensive refit in 2018 and is the perfect boat for classic yacht lovers.

  • During the refit in 2018, the goal for the interior was to create an atmosphere that was elegant but understated and homely – “no bling allowed”. The result is an interior that feels true to the era of the late 1970s whence Vespucci came, without being kitschy. As you enter into the saloon, you are greeted by an effortlessly retro masterpiece, an open space of vast proportion that creates a warm atmosphere. As you walk through the salon, a vast sofa to the port side creates a wonderful area to sit back and relax, or move further forward to the round dining table, a true 70’s design piece complete with a pop of colour with each stall sat beside it. The stand-up bar across from the dining area hides a built-in television that rises from its top, a wonderful mix of classic design with modernity. As you move forward, you can go one of two ways, up towards the raised bridge, a prominent feature in boats of the time, this one having been meticulously upgraded to house the latest tech, or down to one of the two master cabins. The mid-level master cabin is located forward and below the bridge, a vast space greets you, with its wonderful light feel thanks to the cream fabrics of Hermes that cover the room. The king-size bed sits as the centrepiece, with a small study area and large en-suite, graced with the presence of a bath, a rare amenity on a yacht of this size. Further downstairs, you will find the remaining three cabins, two very generously sized twin rooms lay either side of the hallway, with private ensuites and beds large enough to make for a comfortable nights sleep for a person of any age, both benefit from the timeless design that flows through the yacht. The hallway leads you down to the second master suite, again a full-width cabin, beautifully furnished and tastefully equipped with everything one could need, of course, this final cabin is also graced with a wonderfully spacious en-suite. Throughout the yacht, the charming style of the 70s, mixed with the modernity that makes life that little bit more comfortable, create an onboard ambience of true elegance and character, something that makes Vespucci truly special.

  • On the exterior of the yacht, you are welcomed aboard by a very cleverly designed side passerelle if arriving by tender, this modern touch fits beautifully amongst the classic lines. As you head to the stern of the yacht, you are greeted by a mimic of the interior style, a spacious and relaxed seating area fits perfectly amongst the light curvature of the stern, whilst just forward sits a rounded dining area, a perfect wind-protected space to while away the hours in great company. Moving upstairs, you find a vast area in which entertaining becomes easy, a large dining table doubles up as tender storage through clever design, and perfectly positioned deck-chairs grace the teak decks. Further forward the helms position is placed between a small bar area and a further seating area, so you can watch over the captain whilst sipping away at your favourite drink. On the bow, you find one of many guests favourite features, a spacious seating area on which you can sit back and feel the motion of the waves as the bow cuts through the water, a truly wonderful place to spend your time as you cruise the Mediterranean.

Vespucci is unlike any other boat on the charter market, rich in history of the highest nautical prowess, and meticulously restored, she is a fine vessel and a time-vault back to the golden era. Item description
